Well-known teacher and pianist who raised a galaxy of young pianists among the most renowned of nowadays (Lucas Debargue, Alexandre Kantorow, Rémi Geniet among others), Rena Shereshevskaya is awarded a title of a “Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres”, (France), of an Honorary professor of the Moscow Ippolitov-lvanov Musical and Pedagogical Institute and is a Laureate of the Ippolitov-Ivanov International Prize in Musical Education “for her outstanding contribution in the development of the world musical culture”. A graduate of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory and of a poste-graduate course at this conservatory, she taught during 12 years at the Central Special Music School for Gifted Children at the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, then was a head of a piano chair at the Moscow Ippolitov-lvanov Superior Moscow Institute.  

In 1993 she was invited to France as a guest professor of piano by the Colmar National Conservatory for organization of a branch for gifted children and since then she settled there with her family. In parallel with her activity in Colmar she taught also in the Paris National Superior Music Conservatory, in the Rueil-Malmason Conservatory and in the Alfred Cortot Paris Superior Music School where she teaches till now. Rena Shereshevskaya gives public master classes worldwide at the most prestigious academies and festivals as the Roque d’Anthéron Festival in France, Verbier and Sion Festival in Switzerland, New Paltz Summer Festival in the USA, Academy of Nice and Grand Nancy in France…, as well as at conservatories in France, Switzerland, Germany Sweden, Spain (as Lausanne Conservatory, Reine Sofia Music School in Madrid, etc.). She is a jury member of grand international piano competitions as Long Thiibaud (France), Santander (Spain), Geza Anda (Switzeland), Montreal (Canada), Maj Lind (Finland) and others.  

Her students play all over the world in the most prestigious concert halls, such as Carnegie Hall in New-York, Paris Philharmonic Hall, the Champs-Elysées Theatre and Gaveau in Paris, Grand Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, Mariinski Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, etc. She also published a number of articles on problems of the musical education in French, Belgian, Russian and other foreign magazines.  

Many of her students became prize-winners of grand international competitions, among them Alexandre Kantorow (1st Prize and Grand Prix at the 16th Tchaikovsky Competition, Moscow, 2019), Lucas Debargue (4th Prize and a Special Prize of the Association of Musical Critics at the 15th Tchaikovsky Competition, Moscow, 2015), Rémi Geniet (2nd Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, Brussels, 2013 and the winner of the “Young Concert Artists International Audition”, New-York, 2015), Dmitry Sin (1st Prize, Mozart Prize and the Audience Prize at the 18th MozArte International Piano Competition, Aachen, Germany, 2022, and the laureate of the Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition, Brussels, 2021), Marcel Tadokoro (3rd Prize at the XXth Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition, Spain, 2022, two special prizes at Cliburn Piano Competition, USA, 2022), Slava Guerchovitch (1st Grand Prize, the Prize for the best interpretation of the contemporary piece and Shigeru Kawai Prize at the Epinal Piano Competition, Epinal, 2022, France), Julian Trevelyan (2nd Prize, the Prize for the best Interpretation of a Mozart concerto and the Audience Prize at the Gesa Anda International Piano Competition, Zurich, 2021), Aleksandr Kliuchko (3rd Prize at the XIXth Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition, Spain, 2018), Maroussia Gentet (1st Prize and all special prises at the Orléans International Piano Competition, 2018, France), Masha Esaulova and Narek Galajan (piano duo, Prix d’Honneur, Léopold Bellan International Piano Competition, France, 2018), Aimo Pagin (1st Prize at Premio Pianistico Pausilypon, Naples, 2006), and many others. 

In parallel with her intense pedagogical activity, she plays chamber music with internationally renowned musicians, and also formed a duo with her daughter, mezzo-soprano Victoria Shereshevskaya; the duo performs at many festivals in France and in Europe. She is also a creator and an Art Director of a festival “Artistic Dynasties and Families” which has been held for many years in Vitré and Taverny (France).
