Why Take Advanced Strings
Are you a highly skilled young musician who is looking to push the boundaries of what you can accomplish? Then the Advanced Strings program is just for you. At Interlochen, you'll tackle challenging literature, receive extensive personal instruction, and perform alongside other passionate musicians from across the globe.
What You'll Learn
During your time here, you'll rehearse, take classes, participate in artistic activities, and perform on stage at one of our historic and revered venues.
Coursework will include:
Sectionals, music theory, and movement exercises.
Weekly private lessons with dedicated practice time on non-lesson days.
Chamber music activities, in which you will participate in string quartets, and may also have the opportunity to audit master classes and receive coaching from renowned visiting guest artists.
Practice hour, which provides additional daily practice time.
